Burle Marx Forma Livre Tourmaline Gold Earrings

These rare earrings  features  intricately carved tourmaline in the “forma livre” (free form) style. Haroldo  Burle Marx was particularly known for their use of large  Brazilian gemstones. The Forma Livre shape is often fashioned by carving or tumbling the gemstone, a technique invented by Haroldo Burle Marx in 1948. Bezel set in a brushed 18 karat gold setting. The tourmalines measure 17*15mm and the earrings are 24mm high 20.5mm wide.
